Italy's astral doom droners UFOMAMMUT create another ritual of cyclopean riffs and celestial sounds.  A calm melodic ping of synth and shimmering noise support distorted and muted vocals in an effort to transcend the bounds of the earth on opener Empireum.  A minimalist beast rises from the darkness creating a tribal quality to the music.  Walls of guitars and an incessant beat surge towards the front of the track while muted angelic vocals lurk in the nebulous recesses of the song.  Huge, lumbering riffs shift slowly to start Aureum.  The slowly grind like tectonic plates while the song lethargically moves forward.  The track gains momentum and then lurches into throbbing motion while upward arcs of vocals scar the impenetrable wall of guitar.  The song ends with ominously deep riffs that plod and pound while a piercing noise grates at your subconscious.  UFOMAMMUT seamlessly transitions to Infearnatural, a mountainously churning riffs and skittering effects.  The vocals are buried and distant.  This song is the most consistent as the main riff crushes you through repetition and its sheer weight.  The final track on the album is based around a martial beat that later alters itself to a more tribal feel.  With the very resolute riffs and rolling drums an image of a deepspace funeral march is conjured.  One again, the track builds layers upon itself and vibrates to life while deep, hollow guitars relentless pound their beat into your skull.  The new album from UFOMAMMUT is an opus of crawling astral doom that obliterates your psyche and sends your essence into the void.
