Truth Corroded
Worship The Bled

Truth Inc. Records 2011

Australian thrashers Truth Corroded set forth to conquer the world on Worship The Bled, their fourth album.  This is an album of modern thrash with a nod towards death metal, especially in the vocal department.  Snappy drums and crunchy metallic riffage deliver vicious body blows on album opener, Knives Of The Betrayed.  There is a somewhat Swedish feel to the riff style, perhaps a bit of The Haunted or The Crown can be discerned as the song unveils meaty riff after meaty riff.  The rapturous solo during the song's middle section is quite entertaining.  Hunt All Heroes kicks in the door with a speed assault accompanied by melodic accents which further impress a Swedish influence.  The song drops into a crunchy groove towards its climax.  There is an almost metalcore vibe to Leave Nothing Alive, that is until the song's death metal-ish innards and circular guitar solo are spilled from the speakers like so much putrid gore.  The stomping groove brings within the folds to mind a union of Slayer and Pantera.  Scavengers let's fly a flurry of insane speed and bouncy rhythms that leave your ears battered and your mind bewildered.  The guitar solo is complex and leaves the ground shifting below your feet.  Remnants takes a different approach with a thick groove and some double bass grumbling.  Strange disharmonic riffs add a deeper texture to the midtempo lurch of the guitars.  It borders on Asphyx styled death metal though with a thrashier feel and a modern production.  I am not normally a big fan of Modern thrash but Truth Corroded keeps things interesting through clever mingling of styles and tempos.  Worship the Bled is a solid and confident album that pummels you from start to finish.
