Royal Arch Blaspheme
II
Hells Headbangers 2012
The
diabolical masterminds behind two of America's most cult acts,
Profanatica and Krieg, team up to inseminate your soul with some of the
most blasphemous black metal in existence. Having been a pretty
big fan of Havohej I can clearly say that from the outset of the
album's opener, When The Cruel Nails Pierced Thy Tender Hands And Feet,
I can hear definite comparisons. Pounding North American darkness
and rhythmic riffs spread across my speakers like a storm. Grim
vocals spew religious hatred with every breath while the song's
structure alternates between hypnotic riffs and a hammering drum line.
Ropey bass lines and that relentlessly hammering beat drive home
a feverish perversion on Five Sacred Wounds. However during the
last 30 seconds of the song a mesmerizing lead rises from the chaos.
Lust, Blood, Sacrum possesses an even more pounding initial stage
before dropping into a buzzing groove. Then the song rips your
face off once again. The composition moves in a circular motion
only to spray you with spurts of speedy aggression. A martial
drum beat and sinister riffs march doggedly towards you on Profane
Rite. The guitars pick up and the bass guitar makes its thick
presence felt. Psalm 39 uses a more Nordic sounding main riff and
songwriting. There is an overwhelming sense of atmosphere when
its main riff is being played. The other moments are imbued with
a feeling of determined heretical intent. Pious, Suffer In
Corrosion is a straight-ahead, no-frills assault of black metal.
The main section is speedy riffing and that is subsumed by
rolling drums and meaty bass guitar. Royal Arch Blaspheme's
second album is pure American Anti-Xtian hatred put into a sonic
assault that levels churches and their congregations alike. This
album will burn the face of god!
