Terrordrome

Vehement Convulsion

Grindethic Records 2008

Greek brutality machines, Terrordrome have seen their debut finally see the light of day on the UK's Grindethic Records.  I have been intrigued by these guys since being exposed to their demo.  The basic gist of what Terrordrome is about is insanely fast and technical metal which blurs the line between Death and Grind.  Terrordrome has upgraded their arsenal since their demo with sharper riffing, a more varied style, and of course better production.  Straight out of the gates it is clear that Terrordrome are not playing any games, whether it be Peter's ungodly guttural vocals or the frantic pace of time and tempo changes that spray forth like a fire hose of blood.  My favorite track, Exposed to Life's Integration, fires forth salvos of catchy yet blindingly fast riffing which really hammers home starting at the 1:59 mark.  We are treated to rapid fire Morbid Angel-esque rhythms on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  A strong dose of Floridian death metal bends and twists while managing to stop and start on a dime within the bowels of Infected Fornication.  The frenzied intensity of the album breaks all connections to sanity right up until the final note of Festivity of Clitoris Licking.  Sakis' guitar solo on Revile the Vagary squeals its way through my ear drums like the scalpel of a  homicidal surgeon.  I think that a little more riff repetition could help because sometimes I would encounter a killer guitar lick only to have it disappear into the maelstrom never to return.  Drummer Bill Stravrianidis is a madman, bashing out beats and snare hits like an inhuman tornado.  I really like the fact that they kept the album around the half hour mark as it heightens the impact rather than leaving the listener completely drained.  Terrordrome has lived up to my anticipation with a brutal album of reckless abandon.  Twisting all those old school influences into a modern blender of unearthly speed and gore-drenched cruelty, Terrodrome are skilled masters of Greek styled audio violence.
