10 Most Important/Influential Albums of All Time
Recently
I starting thinking that it might be an interesting prospect to see
what were some of the most important and influential albums of all time
when it comes to some of the undeground's notable luminaries.
These are lists that are not necessarily the favorite albums from
each individual, but the albums that played pivotal roles in shaping our journies
throughout our lives. Hopefully these lists will give
you a little more insight into these artists while at the same time
broadening your own musical horizons.

1. Kiss - Hotter Than Hell. This, alongside all other
Kiss-albums from the 70's, had a huge impact on me. Hotter Than Hell is not my
favorite Kiss album today, but I remember how this record in particular made me
obsessed by the sound of the electric guitar, being only 5 years old or so at
that time I already knew I wanted to play guitar. 2. Autopsy - Mental Funeral 3. Metallica - Master of Puppets. Hard to choose which
Metallica album that actually influenced me the most, but there is no doubt
that Master Of Puppets had a huge influence on me at least. 4. Guns 'n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction. No further comment
necessary. 5. Slayer - Reign in Blood. Perfection... 6. Deicide - Deicide. The first death metal album I heard,
I believe. It just blew my mind. 7. Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northern Sky. Probably
my first Black metal record. 8. Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas (rough tape
without vocals). Being fortunate to get hold of this a year or so before the
actual release of the album was amazing. The drum sound was just so great. 9. Voivod - Dimension Hatross. Yes, I know, you all prefer "Killing..." or "Roar" or whatever. But "Dimension" did it for me. First. 10. Tool - Aenima. An art-ish approach to music. So much dynamics going on.
